Core Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Junior Application Specialist to join the Core Applications team within the Technology Unit and support the continuous evolution of University’s information systems. The selected candidate will initially focus on applications and processes related to student admissions, supporting their management, maintenance, and ongoing improvement. The role will involve functional analysis, development of custom solutions, application monitoring, and technical support for internal users.
As a member of the Technology team, you will collaborate closely with business departments—particularly the Admissions area—to understand operational needs and translate them into effective technical solutions. You will also contribute to the maintenance and integration of applications, working alongside senior colleagues and external vendors.
Main activities:
- Analyze business processes and gather functional requirements, with an initial focus on student admissions
- Translate functional requirements into practical technical solutions, with the support of senior team members
- Contribute to the design and development of software components and integrations between systems
- Perform evolutionary and corrective maintenance of existing applications and interfaces using Python, C#, and PL/SQL
- Provide technical support to internal users and assist with troubleshooting application-related issues
- Monitor application environments, integrations, and operational processes
- Support testing activities, issue resolution, and the release of application updates
- Collaborate with external vendors on software development and maintenance activities
- Prepare and maintain technical and functional documentation
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality and data protection standards
